China Wednesday expressed strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to a U.S. State Department report on Hong Kong affairs.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said the principle of "one country, two systems" and "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong" with a high degree of autonomy had been faithfully enforced since Hong Kong returned to the motherland.
"China's determination to fully implement the principle of 'one country, two systems' will not change," Hua said.
"Hong Kong is China's special administrative region. Hong Kong affairs are China's internal affairs and no other country should interfere," Hua said, adding that China was strongly dissatisfied and resolutely opposed to the report, urging the United States to be cautious on issues related to Hong Kong and stop the wrong practice.
