The foreign ministers of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Russia held talks in Pyongyang Thursday on bilateral ties and the situation on the Korean Peninsula among other international issues, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.
At the talks, DPRK Foreign Minster Ri Yong Ho and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov discussed further strengthening the relations between the two countries, marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties, the KCNA said.
"Besides, both sides had an exchange of views on international issues of common interest, including the situation on the Korean Peninsula positively developing thanks to the pro-active efforts of the DPRK," said the report.
Lavrov arrived in Pyongyang on Thursday for a one-day visit.
