Chinese President Xi Jinping held a welcome ceremony for visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing on Friday.
The visit, from June 8 to 10, is Putin’s first trip to China after being re-elected as Russian president for a fourth term in office in March.
Xi will hold talks with Putin on relations between the two nations, cooperation in key areas, and international and regional issues of common concern. Both leaders will also attend bilateral signing ceremonies as well as a joint press conference.
After his visit to Beijing, the Russian president will attend the 18th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the coastal city of Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province.
