Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Friday had a telephone talk over bilateral ties.
Hailing Putin's recent state visit to China and his attendance to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the eastern Chinese seaside city of Qingdao, Xi said Putin's visit was a success and had fruitful results.
Xi said he highly cherishes the deep friendship with Putin as well as the great situation of the China-Russia relations.
As China and Russia are at their key moments of development, and the world situation and hot issues are at the crux of complicated changes, the close and in time contact that we keep and the firm support that our two nations have offered to each other help safeguard the two countries' sovereignties, securities and development interests, and defend the regional and global peace, stability and justice, Xi said.
Xi said he is willing to work together with Putin to lead the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination to maintain sustainable, stable and high-level development.
Xi congratulated on the successful opening of the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia and wished a complete success of the event with Russia's delicate organization works.
Putin congratulated again the success of the SCO summit in Qingdao and thanked China for the warm reception.
Putin recalled his recent state visit to China ahead of the SCO summit, saying that he has reached important consensus with Xi on promoting further development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination.
Putin said he highly values the personal friendship with Xi and is willing to keep close contact between them.
"I sincerely hope that under President Xi Jinping's leadership, China will make bigger achievement in development," Putin said.
