UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday condemned an attack targeting a rally attended by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
The secretary-general learned the news with grave concern and condemns this act of violence, his spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said in a statement.
The UN chief expresses his solidarity with the government and people of Ethiopia, the statement added.
An attacker in police uniform tossed a grenade at the rally in Addis Ababa Saturday, shortly after the prime minister gave a speech.
Some reports said at least one person was killed and more than 100 people were injured as the attack triggered a stampede.
