The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission have recently asked for law enforcement departments to protect the personal rights of people under detention.
The legal rights and interests of persons detained shall be guaranteed, such as their personal rights, property rights and right to defense, according to rules recently issued by the CCDI and NSC.
The personal and ethnic customs of the persons detained shall also be respected; the diet, rest and safety of persons detained shall be guaranteed; and medical services shall be provided, said the rules.
