A Chinese mainland official on Monday mourned Taiwanese victims who died in a hospital fire and sent condolences to their families and the injured.
"We are saddened by the accident," Ma Xiaoguang, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said in a press release.
Nine people have died and more than ten were injured after a fire broke out in a hospital in New Taipei City at dawn Monday.
"We express our sincere condolence to the families of the deceased and those who were injured," Ma said.
