Bainqen Erdini Qoigyijabu, the 11th Panchen Lama, on Saturday held a worshipping ceremony at Lhamo Lhatso Lake in Gyaca County, Shannan Prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region.
It is the first time for the Panchen Lama to pay a visit to Lhamo Lhatso, a sacred lake.
Around 11 a.m., the Panchen Lama, together with more than 30 monks, started to lead sutra chanting, praying for peace, prosperity, and stability. The ritual also had other activities, including throwing cereals and planting a blessed bottle in the middle of the lake as sacrifice.
The worshipping ceremony lasted for about one hour.
