Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who was in Tianjin to attend the Summer Davos Forum annual meeting.
Li said China will work with Serbia to continue to support each other on issues concerning the core interests of both sides and to make efforts to expand common interests and cement public foundation for bilateral ties.
Li said that China is willing to seek better synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and Serbia's development strategy while trying to make major projects, such as transport infrastructure construction and capacity cooperation projects, play a leading role in deepening pragmatic cooperation of mutual benefit.
He said that as China and Serbia share same goals and views within the 16+1 cooperation mechanism, which is a cooperative platform between 16 Central and Eastern European countries and China, China will further work with Serbia to enhance relevant cooperation, so as to inject vigor to the two countries' and regional development.
Vucic said that Serbia attaches great importance to its relations with China and is willing to learn from China's experience on economic and social development.
Noting that the Belt and Road Initiative is mutually beneficial and that relevant projects have played a significant role in promoting the Serbian economy, Vucic said the Serbian side expects to reinforce all-around cooperation with China and score win-win progress.
