China is always sincere about improving relations with the Vatican and has done unremitting efforts in this regard, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Wednesday.
China and the Vatican signed a provisional agreement on the appointment of bishops last Saturday in Beijing.
The agreement represents important initial achievement in the process of improving bilateral relations, spokesperson Geng Shuang told a regular press briefing.
China is willing to further work with the Vatican to carry out constructive dialogue, enhance understanding and build up mutual trust and advance the process of improving bilateral ties, Geng said.
