At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Angolan President Joao Lourenco is scheduled to pay a state visit to China from Oct. 8 to 10.
Lourenco, 64, participated in the struggle for Angola's national independence in his early years.
He obtained a master's degree in history in the former Soviet Union and served as a provincial governor, first vice-president of the National Assembly of Angola and defense minister.
Lourenco was inaugurated as president of Angola in September 2017.
