China's Special Envoy for Syria Xie Xiaoyan on Sunday highlighted the need to intensify efforts of the international community to end the Syrian crisis through a political solution that preserves Syria's unity and stability.
During his meeting with Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi in the capital Amman, Xie said the sovereignty, independence and the territorial integrity of Syria must be respected and preserved.
They agreed that "there is no military solution to the crisis" and stressed the need to reach a political solution that restores the country's security and provides conditions for the voluntary return of refugees.
The return of Syria to the Arab League will be beneficial for the participation of Arab countries in the political process of Syria and the final solution to the Syrian crisis, said Xie.
The Chinese envoy also appreciated Jordan's great humanitarian role in the Syrian crisis, voicing China's support to the kingdom in this regard.
For his part, Safadi urged the international community to provide the necessary support to the refugees and Jordan, which is hosting 1.3 million Syrians.
The Jordanian foreign minister affirmed that his country will not shoulder any responsibility for the Rukban camp of the displaced Syrians as its inhabitants are Syrian citizens on Syrian soil, adding that the conditions for the aid delivery from inside Syria is available now.
They also underlined the importance of the developments that China-Jordan relations are witnessing and the two countries' keenness to increase cooperation in all fields.
A day earlier, Xie held a seminar at the Middle East Studies Center of Jordan, where he exchanged ideas and opinions on regional issues with local scholars.
