Chinese President Xi Jinping said he hopes to deepen cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and welcomes more international organizations to participate in the construction of the Belt and Road, during his meeting with Managing Director of the IMF, Christine Lagarde, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Wednesday.
Xi expressed his appreciation toward Lagarde for her promotion of the IMF's cooperation with China and her support of the joint construction of the Belt and Road international cooperation.
He said China hoped to provide better public goods to the countries along the Belt and Road through their cooperation.
Xi added that he hoped that IMF quotas and governance reforms could conform to the trend of the times and reflect the representativeness and voice of the emerging market and developing countries.
