The Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) said Tuesday it is strongly dissatisfied with U.S. remarks on issues related to Hong Kong and urged the U.S. side to stop sending wrong signals about violent acts.
The commissioner's office said remarks by a U.S. State Department spokesman on Hong Kong were groundless accusations.
The commissioner's office added that recent violent acts happened in Hong Kong challenged the bottom line of "One Country, Two Systems" and would never be tolerated.
"We expressed strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to wrong remarks by the U.S. side," said commissioner's office, urging the U.S. to immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs and respect China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
