A spokesperson for the Office of the Commissioner of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Friday expressed strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to the remarks made by the U.S. State Department's spokesperson Morgan Ortagus.
The remarks are a blatant slander on China and once again exposed the U.S. "gangster logic" and hegemonic mentality, said the Chinese spokesperson, noting that the U.S. comments against China are in fact a red-herring that the U.S. side fails to review and correct its own acts of interfering in Hong Kong affairs.
The statement came after Morgan criticized China for disclosing the photograph and personal details of a U.S. diplomat in contact with the so-called leaders of separatists in Hong Kong.
