Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) must stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs, Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said on Monday.
He made the remarks in response to recent comments from Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen, who claimed to "offer humanitarian assistance to Hong Kong residents" in support of the recent protests.
Ma said the DPP administration turns white into black and confuses the facts related to Hong Kong affairs. Its distortion of facts, according to Ma, will encourage the violence and unlawful activities in Hong Kong.
He reiterated that no one should be above the law, urging the DPP to stop damaging the rule of law in Hong Kong and stop conniving with violent criminals.
