Carrie Lam, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), said during a press conference that the government is working on building an open and transparent platform for dialogue.
Lam noted that the dialogue is "way more better than confrontation" and the government will have direct dialogues with different walks of life, adding that the first open dialogue platform will be held next week.
Lam also said that road to restoring peace will be longer if the violent acts don't stop. She also said the government will maintain a neutral stance when enforcing the law.
