Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoyed performances at the Shore Temple complex in the Indian town of Mamallapuram on Friday.
The two leaders attended the cultural event featuring traditional Indian dances and music after visiting some ancient monuments in the area, including Arjuna's Penance and the Shore Temple. Group of Monuments at Mamallapuram is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This was the second informal meeting between Xi and Modi. Previously, the two leaders had met in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, in April 2018.
President Xi arrived in the southern Indian city of Chennai on Friday afternoon. Chennai is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu, which is located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. It is also a major cultural, economic and educational center of south India.
Located 55 kilometers from Chennai, the town of Mamallapuram, also known as Mahabalipuram, is one of the most visited towns in south India.
