Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the first sustainable development forum that opened on Thursday in Beijing.
The forum is jointly held by the Development Research Center of the State Council of China in conjunction with the Beijing municipal government and relevant UN agencies. It will discuss how to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
President Xi pointed out that China has adopted the vision of an innovative, coordinated, green, and open development that is for everyone. It has boosted its economy with high-quality development and have fully implemented the agenda.
At the same time, China actively contributes to sustainable development goals worldwide through advancing South-South cooperation and aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with the world agenda, Xi said.
China hopes all relevant parties can actively seek to implement the 2030 sustainable development agenda, promote common development, and work together to build the world into a community of a shared future for humanity, he added.
