The Education Bureau (EDB) in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) announced on Tuesday that classes in primary and secondary schools will resume on Wednesday.
The decision was made after traffic conditions, which have been affected by protesters blocking the streets of the city, gradually get better.
Meanwhile, classes in kindergartens and schools for children with physical and intellectual disability will remain suspended until Sunday, according to the EDB.
The education authorities reminded students to return home after classes and not to participate in unlawful gatherings and activities.
The EDB said it will continue to monitor the latest development and provide schools with timely advice and support.
