U.S. President Donald Trump Wednesday signed into law a congressional legislation backing protesters in Hong Kong, according to a White House statement.
China has previously lodged solemn representations against the U.S. Senate's passage of acts involving Hong Kong and expressed "strong condemnation" for Washington's meddling in Beijing's internal affairs.
