An officer of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia died in a shooting in the center of Moscow, TASS news agency reported Thursday, quoting the FSB.
The FSB said earlier in the day that an unknown person, who was killed, had opened fire near 12 Bolshaya Lubyanka Street, not far from its building.
Later, the Health Ministry reported five security officers were injured as a result of the shooting, and two of them sustained extremely serious injuries.
A criminal case on the fact of the shooting has been opened.
