Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Thursday criticized Western attempts to scapegoat others for COVID-19.
"Today, in the most difficult situation, biased and baseless attacks on individual states and international organizations as well as attempts to blame them for the current epidemiological crisis, which are intensifying in some countries, are extremely inappropriate," Zakharova said in an online briefing.
Russia supports the measures taken by the World Health Organization and its leadership in combating the coronavirus and advocates strengthening its coordinating role in the fight against the pandemic, she said.
Zakharova said that the current crisis is a test for many states not only for survival, but also for their readiness to create new approaches to modern international relations and joint solutions to common pressing issues.
