Leung Chun-ying, one of the conveners of the Hong Kong Coalition, said that the future belongs to young people, and called for the youth to join hands with others to help the city overcome difficulties and get "started again."
Leung, who is also vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks in a CMG interview on Monday.
More than 1,500 representatives from all walks of life have co-sponsored the coalition, said Leung. About 10 percent are young people.
Leung also encouraged the diversification of views, calling for people to rationally express their opinions.
Above all, everyone must abide by the law, Leung stressed.
