Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday stressed unremitting efforts to ensure better integration of the roles of the market and the government in resource allocation.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks when joining a joint panel discussion attended by national political advisors from the economic sector.
Noting that China is committed to seeing that the market plays the decisive role in resource allocation and the government plays its role better, Xi said: "The practices in reform have made us realize that we must under no circumstances turn our back on addressing blindness of the market, and we must not return to the old path of a planned economy."
