China's foreign ministry on Tuesday said Beijing agrees and is willing to make arrangements for an independent visit to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at the request of the European Union (EU).

Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin was responding to a question at a daily press briefing about allowing independent observers to visit Xinjiang, which was mentioned during the China-Germany-EU leaders' meeting on Monday.

Wang said China welcomes people to visit Xinjiang and learn about the real situation there instead of believing in hearsay or even fabricated lies.

Wang underlined that China opposes investigation that bears presumption of guilt.

Located in northwestern China, Xinjiang has become the latest victim of U.S. bans which will see some of Xinjiang's exports including cotton and apparel be barred to the country.

At Tuesday's briefing, the Chinese ministry called the U.S. import bans, which cites China's human rights abuses, "naked bullying" and are sabotaging global supply chains.

"The U.S. says it cares about the ethnic minorities in Xinjiang while on the other hand suppressing Xinjiang enterprises," Wang said during the briefing.

He also stressed that China will take necessary measures to safeguard the rights and interests of its enterprises and urged the U.S. to stop undermining normal cooperation between Chinese and American companies.
