Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiee said on Wednesday that the U.S. sanctions over the past two years have deprived Iran of access to 50 billion U.S. dollars in money and foreign exchange resources.
"We even had problems in supplying raw materials for medicine and industrial production parts," Rabiee was quoted as saying by official IRNA news agency.
He added that Iran's exports, during the period, had problems with restrictions and refunds.
U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018 and re-imposed old and new financial and energy sanctions against Iran in an attempt to push the latter for renewed talks on the 2015 nuke deal, also known as JCPOA, and Iran's ballistic missile program. Iran rejected the U.S. demands.
