UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday condemned the deplorable attack on Aden's airport in Yemen shortly after the arrival of the new power-sharing government, which killed and wounded dozens of people.

In a statement issued by his deputy spokesperson Farhan Haq, Guterres extended his profound condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the people and government of Yemen. He wishes a speedy recovery to those injured.

On Wednesday morning, three massive explosions rocked Aden's airport in southern Yemen just minutes after a plane carrying new Yemeni power-sharing government members landed. The number of deaths caused by the explosions rose to 22 on Wednesday evening, the country's Interior Ministry announced.
