Nine new imported COVID-19 cases were reported Thursday on the Chinese mainland, bringing the total number of imported cases to 5,049.
Six imported cases were newly reported in Shanghai, and one each in Tianjin, Hunan and Guangdong, the National Health Commission said in its daily report Friday.
Of the imported cases, 4,882 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery while 167, including one in severe condition, remained hospitalized, the commission said.
There were currently two suspected cases on Thursday, both arriving from outside the mainland.
No deaths had been reported among the imported cases.
