China and Malaysia sought to strengthen ties during Thursday's meeting between Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Malaysian counterpart Hishammuddin Hussein.
The two ministers met in Nanping City, Fujian Province to discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The meeting also focused on a post-pandemic agenda and issues such as vaccine cooperation and trade.
According to the International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI), Malaysia's trade with China in February surged by 49.8 percent year on year to 28.76 billion ringgit ($6.93 billion), representing 18.3 percent of Malaysia's total trade.
