China has urged Japan to learn its lesson and correct its unilateral wrong decision on the way it plans to discharge Fukushima nuclear wastewater, and not let the people of the world pay for Japan's wrong actions, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Wednesday.
Wang made the remarks in response to a question about Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Company reportedly submitting a plan for discharging contaminated water into the sea as soon as May.
Japan's decision on the disposal of nuclear wastewater has violated its international responsibilities and spread environmental health and security risks around the world, Wang said, adding that Japan's behavior is neither scientific nor responsible.
