A mainland spokesperson on Wednesday urged the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authority in Taiwan to stop blocking COVID-19 vaccines from the mainland, calling the obstruction the biggest political obstacle for people in Taiwan to access the vaccines.
Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, told a press briefing on Wednesday that the DPP authority should prioritize people's health and safety rather than play with political rigs.
She also reaffirmed the mainland's willingness to provide help to the island which is seeing a surge in cases over the recent weeks.
