U.S. President Joe Biden signed an executive order on Thursday that bans U.S. entities from investing in dozens of Chinese companies with so-called ties to defense or surveillance technology sectors.
Answering a question about the order, Gao Feng, a spokesperson from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, urged the U.S. side to stop suppressing Chinese enterprises.
China has reiterated that lifting sanctions and restrictions and stopping suppression of Chinese companies will benefit China, the United States, as well as the whole world, said Gao at a regular press conference.
