A Chinese military spokesperson slammed Japan's interference in Taiwan-related affairs Thursday, saying that they are none of Japan's business but China's internal affairs.
Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, made the remarks at a press briefing in response to a Japanese defense official's negative comments about Taiwan.
"The Japanese official has repeatedly hyped up so-called 'China's military threat' and grossly meddled in China's internal affairs, which has undermined China's sovereignty," said the spokesperson.
"The Chinese side voices strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition," said Wu.
The Japanese side, no matter how hard it tries to clamor, cannot change the fact that the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands are an inherent part of China's territory, the spokesperson noted, urging Japan to halt any aggressive acts against China on the Diaoyu Island issue.
"The Chinese side must make it clear to the Japanese side that China is now far from what it was and it will never allow any country to meddle in the Taiwan question in any way," the spokesperson stressed.
