Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with visiting Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh in Beijing on Monday.
China and Mongolia are important neighbors to each other. Maintaining long-term, stable and good-neighborly cooperation between the two countries serves the fundamental interests of the two peoples, Xi told Khurelsukh, who is on a state visit to China.
China will work with Mongolia to respect each other's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, respect each other's choice of development path and support each other on issues concerning the core interests and major concerns, Xi said.
Xi informed his Mongolian counterpart of the outcomes of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese path to modernization, saying the CPC is leading the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in a concerted effort to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization.
Mongolia is ready to enhance political exchanges and mutual support with China, Khurelsukh said, reaffirming his country's adherence to the one-China policy.
He said Mongolia backs the China-proposed Global Development Initiative and Global Security Initiative.
