President Xi Jinping's Special Representative and State Councilor Shen Yiqin attended the closing ceremony of the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris on Sunday evening.
Prior to the closing ceremony, Shen had a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron. Shen conveyed warm regards from President Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan and congratulated Paris on the successful hosting of the Olympic Games. She expressed gratitude for the support provided by the French side to the Chinese Olympic delegation.

On Saturday, Shen met with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach. She said that China is willing to deepen high-level friendly cooperation with the IOC to promote the development of the Olympic Movement and build a community with a shared future for mankind.
Bach congratulated the Chinese Olympic delegation on its excellent performance at the Games, and thanked the Chinese government for its steadfast support for the Olympic cause. He expressed the hope to continue developing close cooperation with China to send a positive signal in support of multilateralism. The two sides agreed to oppose the politicization of sports.
During her three-day visit to France, which started on Friday, Shen also visited the Chinese Olympic delegation, encouraging athletes to continue promoting the spirit of Chinese sportsmanship and the Olympic spirit and strive for excellence.
