About eight BeiDou satellites can be seen in Arab countries' air space on average, with a positioning accuracy of 10 meters, which demonstrates the high-quality global service the BeiDou Satellite System (BDS) could provide, said an assessment released on Tuesday during the BDS Cooperation Forum held in the Tunisian capital Tunis.
The report was issued by the China-Arab States BDS/GNNS Center in Tunis, with static and dynamic tests conducted in a number of Arab states including Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Kuwait and Algeria. The report also showed that the BDS global service availability exceeds 95 percent of the planet.
The BDS Cooperation Forum, which was held from Monday to Tuesday, was the first important activity BDS has held in countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative since the system started providing global services in December.
In recent years, BDS has been applied in various industries in different markets, including logistics services in Thailand, flying drones in Cambodia, agricultural services in Myanmar and mapping in Uganda.
