Lunar samples that Chang'e-6 collected from the far side of moon were debuted on Monday morning at the 15th Airshow China, which will officially kick off on Tuesday in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong Province.
The items on display include the lunar samples from the moon's far side, the Chang'e 6 returner that carried back the lunar samples together with the parachute, and the sealed containers for lunar samples, CCTV news reported.
According to the report, these lunar samples represent Chang'e 6's first public service sample. It weighs about 75 milligrams and was taken from the largest, deepest, and oldest impact crater on the far side of the moon, which is the thinnest part of the moon's crust.
China's latest achievement in lunar exploration, the Chang'e-6 mission, has claimed full success, as the returning capsule carrying the first batch of lunar samples collected from the far side of the moon in human history, safely touched down in designated landing site in Siziwang Banner, in North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on June 25, and the returner of the Chang'e-6 lunar probe was opened at a ceremony in Beijing on the following day, where key technical indicators were examined.
