Forbes released the list of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women 2015 on Tuesday; German Chancellor Angela Markel tops the list for the fifth time, followed by former American Secretary Hillary Clinton. Six Chinese women are among the list.

The World's 100 Most Powerful Women was launched by Forbes in 2014. It is the Forbes' definitive annual audit of the foremost heads of state, iconic entrepreneurs and CEOs, celebrity role models, billionaire activists, and pioneer philanthropists, all ranked by money, media momentum, spheres of influence and impact.

German Chancellor tops the list for the fifth time this year. However, Forbes pointed out that after the next year's U.S. elections, she may lose her title for the first time since 2010 to Hillary Clinton.

South Korean President Park Geun-hye leads the Asian women list, jumping from the 46th position to 11th this year.

Six Chinese women break in the list, including Peng Lei (Lucy Peng), CEO of Alibaba's Ant Financial Services; Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization; Solina Chau, director of the Li Ka Shing Foundation and actress Yao Chen.

Forbes also shows concerns on women's status. As of January 2015, 10 women served as heads of state and 14 as heads of government. Women currently hold 23 (4.6 percent) of CEO positions at S&P 500 companies. Of a total 1,826 global billionaires, 197 are women - 11 percent of the total.
