Victims of domestic violence will be provided with more assistance, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF).
Victim support will be given to people who suffer domestic abuse, whether they are permanent residents or not, according to a guideline released by the ministry and ACWF.
The document called for a victim-protection system that would ensure the vulnerable received adequate care, especially children and women.
The ACWF confirmed that victim support agencies had already been set up in 400 cities, and about 50,000 victims of domestic violence have received assistance.
Agencies dealing with domestic abuse cases were ordered to provide dedicated relocation centers for victims and ensure a high standard of meticulous care.
Social organizations were also encouraged to provide outreach services for domestic violence victims.
