Shanghai expats earn $202,200 every year on average, ranking 4th after Mumbai, San Francisco and Zurich, according to a survey released by HSBC Tuesday, reported by Knews.
The average annual income of expats is about twice the global figure and higher than other major cities in Asia, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The survey shows that expats are satisfied with their income after migrating to Shanghai.
These figures come from a survey of more than 27,000 expats conducted by YouGov on behalf of HSBC.
The largest number of Shanghai expats are employed in education and financial sectors, which account for 18 percent and 15 percent respectively.
