Max, an Australian, and his business partners drive every day from a pick-up site to deliver goods to customers of Taobao, China's biggest online shopping platform.
"We charge about A$5 to A$20 for dispatching each parcel, but it's the people's smile when they receive the packages from China that's priceless," said Max, who marvels at Taobao's innovation and the purchasing power of ethnic Chinese.
Max's former job was packing goods, which he found mechanical and stressful, so he launched his own business as Taobao expanded its footprints in Australia.
He said now he has more time for his family.
In order to improve his delivery business, Max joined hands with two Chinese partners. Oscar Xue, one of his partners, said, "Millions of Chinese live in Australia. Though their location has changed, their Chinese dietary habits remain the same. Many Chinese started buying more from China after Taobao entered Australia."
