An 18-year-old Chinese university student was killed and three others were injured in a house fire in Toronto, according to the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto.
The blaze broke out at around 2:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday in a house shared by the four University of Toronto students who attended the school's nearby Scarborough campus.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
The Chinese diplomatic mission has dispatched personnel to visit the injured students and is offering assistance to their families.
