Shanghai Disney Resort has revealed details of its first themed destination race, the 2018 Disney Inspiration Run, which will be held on September 15-16.
The resort announced Monday that the event will feature three courses of different lengths: 3.5 km, 5 km and 10 km. The 3.5 km and 5 km runs will be held on Saturday, September 15, followed by the 10 km run on September 16.
Runners aged 5 years and older are allowed to participate in the 3.5km run, and participants 16 years of age and above are qualified in the other two.
Co-hosted with the Shanghai International Marathon, the first 50 runners (both in the men's and women's categories) to finish the 5 km and 10 km courses will be granted automatic entry into the mini-marathon and 10 km events at the 2018 Shanghai International Marathon.
The three specially-designed courses will take participants through some of the iconic features of Shanghai Disney Resort, including Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and Wishing Star Park.
Every participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt featuring Mickey, Donald or Pluto, depending on the course, and those who cross the finish line will also be awarded a unique race medal.
First organized in Orlando in 1994, Disney's destination races have attracted hundreds of thousands of participants to run the events across the globe, including Paris, Hong Kong, and many cities in the United States.
