Zunyi, a southwestern Chinese city with an abundant revolutionary heritage, saw rapid development in its "red tourism" industry this year.
In the first half of 2018, the "red tourism" sector in Zunyi netted a revenue of about 14.22 billion yuan (2.1 billion U.S. dollars), up 16.3 percent year on year.
The city receive 18.88 million visitors during the same period, up 12.8 percent year on year.
"Red tourism", featuring visits to historical sites with a revolutionary legacy, has gained great popularity in China in recent years.
Zunyi, Jinggang Mountain, Ruijin, Yan'an, and Xibaipo are some of the other popular destinations of "red tourism" in China.
