Five people were wounded as a magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Tonghai County, southwest China's Yunnan Province, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The quake happened at around 1:44 a.m. BJT with a depth of seven kilometers.
The five injured have already been hospitalized and are in stable condition.
The rescue operation is underway.
