China's second Legoland theme park will be built in Sanya, a popular beach city in south China's island province of Hainan, the local government announced Saturday.
According to an agreement co-signed by the Sanya government, China Media Capital Inc. and Merlin Entertainments Group, the park will combine elements of the iconic LEGO bricks and the tropical coastal charm of Sanya to target families with children between two and 12 years old.
Currently, eight Legoland parks have opened in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, and Japan. China's first Legoland park is scheduled to open in 2021 in Shanghai.
