China reported less road accidents during the seven-day National Day holiday from Oct. 1 to 7, the Ministry of Public Security announced on Sunday.
As of 7 p.m. Sunday, the number of road accidents causing casualties declined by 34 percent year on year and the number of deaths caused by road accidents dropped by 47 percent.
No traffic accidents with more than 10 deaths had been reported, said the ministry.
Nationwide, around 180,000 policemen and 60,000 police vehicles were dispatched each day on average, said the ministry.
