At least two people were confirmed dead after one more body was recovered after a bus carrying passengers crashed with a car on a bridge in Southwest China's Chongqing and plunged into the Yangtze River at about 10 am on Sunday, according to local authorities.
One body was recovered as of 1 pm on Sunday.
The number of passengers onboard local bus No. 22 was not immediately known, and rescue operations led by the public security authority are still going on.
The accident took place at the Second Yangtze River Bridge in Chongqing's Wanzhou district.
The bus broke the guardrail of the bridge after the car crash and careened off the road into the river.
