Three people were injured by a knife-wielding man at Manchester Victoria station in northwestern England on New Year's Eve.
Police said they had arrested a male suspect.
The three people, including a police officer, have been hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to a police statement.
The station in the city center has been closed.
"There is currently no intelligence to suggest that there is any wider threat at this time," Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts of Manchester said in a statement. He added that officers from a counterterrorism unit were leading the investigation.
So far, the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
